About this event

  • 3 hours

Redemptive Plastics is a collaborative project co-founded and led by alt_ Chicago, an art-first, faith-based, community-driven nonprofit based on the west side that revitalizes neighborhoods utilizing the arts as a tool. Along with co-founders Happy Returns Studio, a Chicago studio working at the intersection of robotics, recycling and recreation, Redemptive Plastics has forged a new path where art, faith and community meet sustainability. Operating mostly out of the Austin neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, this project partners and collaborates with individuals and organizations looking to redeem over discard, to close the loop and to create more sustainable practices revolving around material usage.

We collect and REDEEM discarded plastic in the community. We are artists, cohort members and volunteers working together to transform plastic into functional artwork.
