- Recognize the history of the Volunteer Initiative and identify the Volunteer Mission

- Discuss key components of how to effectively manage volunteers

- Identify ways of successfully communicating across various ages and demographics

- Strategize to determine what jobs to recruit for, how to recruit, how to interview, and select the most qualified volunteers for a range of positions

- Identify the main causes of volunteer burnout and approaches to managing it successfully

- Discover various ways to motivate, retain, appreciate, and reward volunteers

- Explain the volunteer management process as part of the Volunteer Management Program
