Volunteer at GFNY Ann Arbor 2022

Volunteering at the GFNY Ann Arbor is a fun experience, with camaraderie, goodwill and excitement. Volunteers play a key role in creating an unforgettable experience for athletes, spectators, journalists and special guests from all over the world. The event draws on the help of over 200 volunteers over four days, Jun. 09-12, 2022.

Volunteers who offer their time, energy, support and enthusiasm are a vital part of GFNY. GFNY Ann Arbor : On June, 2022, one thousand cyclists from across the USA and 90+ countries will ride on a challenging 100-mile cycling marathon in the Michigan. On June 11 , 2022 the GFNY expo takes place in the Ann Arbor Ice Cube : (2121 Oak Valley Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48103). More information about the event can be found at annarbor.gfny.com

GFNY Athletes:  GFNY cyclists are dedicated athletes who train hard to be able to complete a challenging event like the GFNY cycling marathon. Help us welcome them to GFNY and get them all set to race.

Everyone Can Help: You can volunteer in a broad range of roles, such as registration, setup, aid stations, clean up, motorcycle marshal and more. While there are many ways you can help, they all have one thing in common: you are part of the Event.

No matter if you’re young, old, love cycling or know nothing about it, if you’d like to help at the expo, an aid station or the finish line – we are looking forward to seeing you! Get involved in GFNY Ann Arbor to support the athletes in their quest to the GFNY Ann Arbor finish line.

Volunteer T-shirt: Every volunteer receives the official GFNY Volunteer T-shirt. The T-shirt identifies a person as an Official GFNY Volunteer. The T-shirt must be worn as the outer-most layer of your clothing - please pick the right T-shirt size!

Dates and Locations:

On Thursday 11am-3pm (June 9, 2022), we need help with packing goodie bags and setting up the registration at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.

On Friday 12pm-5pm(June 10, 2022) and Saturday 12pm-6pm (June 11, 2022), the GFNY athlete registration and expo take place at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.

On Sunday 5am-11am & 10am-3pm (June 12, 2022), GFNY Ann Arbor Race takes place, with a start area located in front of the Ann Arbor Ice Cube. The post-race festivities are at the same place.

Volunteer Info: GFNY volunteers will receive arrival time & location and basic instructions before the start of their shift via email. You don't need to worry about memorizing anything, we will provide role assignments and role instructions once you arrive for your shift. For aid station & on-course directional volunteers, we have prepared an aid station volunteer video. 

Charities, Organizations, Schools: Please reach out to us for you, your club, school or organization and we will let you know how you can help and be part of GFNY Ann Arbor.

Volunteer Registration Process: Volunteer registration is based on your day of availability (Thurs, Fri, Sat or Sun) and the location (Registration, Start, Aid Stations, Race Course, Finish). Once you have determined the day and location that fits your schedule, select the number of volunteers or shifts that you are registering. Select a number in the Quantity field and click "Register." Fill in your information. Then, select the time and task from the options available. Volunteer registration is based on time, so select the time slot that fits into your schedule.
