What to expect:

6:30p - 7p: Get to know your neighbors and Wind Phone use - you are, of course, always welcome to return and use the Wind Phone whenever you feel called to do so

A bit of background:
This year, my family lost my sister to suicide, and I have been open and vulnerable with this fact since we lost her. As a result, people have felt safe to be open and vulnerable back, sharing their losses, hardships and grief. It has been an eye-opening experience to realize so many people walk around with these great losses within them, so I set out to find a way to honor and support those who are carrying around a loss.

Enter... the Wind Phone. The concept started in Japan, and it's simple. A phone connected to nothing but the wind, meant to make a one-way phone call to a loved one who has passed to express your grief, memories, love, or just to talk like you used to on the phone.

Wind Phones are therapeutic, and can be a life line to those still experiencing intense moments of grief. The Community Happiness Project (CHP) is about promoting positivity in our communities so that we can find ways to thrive in a chaotic world - part of that chaos is loss, and it is important to have ways to process loss that are healthy, accessible, and designed with kindness in mind. In this way, the Wind Phone is the perfect addition to the CHP.
