About this event

Join us for a transformative three-part workshop series on Vitalist Herbalism, where we delve into the profound art of supporting and nourishing life energy through working with medicinal foods and herbal allies. While many view herbs as a substitute for medications, this series challenges such allopathic thinking, instead focusing on deep health and nourishment on all levels - heart, spirit, and soul.

If you'd like to register for any of the three classes individually, follow the links below:

11am - 3pm

Drawing from the wisdom of ancient traditions, we explore the concept of herbs as allies in the journey towards holistic wellness. Rather than simply "slapping an herb on" to make a problem go away, Vitalism guides you to understand your individual systems and root causes of imbalances, and empowers you to make meaningful changes.

Led by esteemed instructor and herbalist Lisa Ganora with her vast and varied experience, we aim to revive the traditional way of practicing herbal healing.

Throughout the series, we emphasize the importance of connecting with our Plant Allies and the Earth, respecting and understanding their medicinal potential. By bridging physiology-based knowledge with spiritual well-being, we unlock the profound synergy between plants and people, ultimately guiding participants towards a deeper understanding of themselves and the transformative power of the natural world around them.

This workshop is perfect for anyone seeking a more holistic approach to health and wellness, whether you're new to herbalism or looking to deepen your understanding of its principles. Join us on this truly holistic journey towards vitality and connection!

This workshop series can be taken in entirety or each session as a standalone experience. We highly recommend committing to the whole series to fully absorb the depth of this offering!

Lisa Ganora began studying herbal medicine in the early ‘80s. After practicing as a Wise Woman tradition community herbalist, wildcrafter, and medicine-maker for a decade, Lisa returned to school at UNCA and graduated summa cum laude with multiple awards in biology and chemistry. After graduation she focused on exploring herbal constituents in the context of western clinical herbalism and Vitalist therapeutics.

In addition to founding and directing the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism from 2012-2020 and managing Elderberry’s Farm (a Rocky Mountain Herbal Education Center in Paonia, CO), Lisa has also served as Adjunct Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, and has lectured and taught classes at numerous schools and conferences around the world. Lisa especially loves to share the art of organoleptics: how to use our senses to understand the power and personalities of the herbs. This sensory approach is a traditional way to connect and communicate with plants as teachers and healers.
