All are welcome to join a Virtual Kick-off Event for Cleveland's Vision Zero Action Plan, featuring accessibility advocate Karin Korb.

All Cleveland residents and individuals interested in roadway safety are invited to join this FREE online event to kick-off the Vision Zero Action Plan. The goal of Vision Zero Cleveland is to eliminate serious injuries and deaths on Cleveland roads through clear, measurable strategies to provide safe, healthy, and equitable mobility for all.The Virtual Kick-off will be presented online via Zoom. A link to access the Zoom session will be provided once your register for the event.Participants will hear from nationally renowned speaker Karin Korb, focusing on designing environments and policies to increase accessibility for all. The event will also include more information on the Vision Zero Action Plan and ways Clevelanders can get involved to improve access and safety on our local streets.About the Speaker:Karin Korb is dedicated to promoting equity, justice, diversity, inclusion, and multiculturalism through a variety of platforms including cultural events, workshops, trainings and facilitated community conversations about diversity and disability identity. She is a prominent subject matter expert on the intersection of Disability and public health. Karin is deeply committed to the inclusion of persons with disability at every level of life as she previously served as the Policy and Public Affairs Coordinator for Lakeshore Foundation, an organization devoted to providing opportunities for people with disability to live a healthy lifestyle through activity, research, advocacy and health promotion. Her career in advocacy, policy, diversity, access, and inclusion has spanned over three decades. Karin broke her back in a gymnastics vaulting accident. She is a 2-time Paralympian and a 10-time member of the USA World Team. She was the first person with a disability to receive a Division 1 athletic scholarship to Georgia State University to play intercollegiate wheelchair tennis and has gone on to assist various universities in creating their own wheelchair tennis and adapted sport programs.Karin&#x27;s success as an athlete is unparalleled:⇨ 2-time Paralympian⇨ 10-time member of the USA World Team⇨ First person with a disability to play at the US Open, paving the way for inclusion at all grand slams⇨ Only athlete with a disability inducted into the Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame⇨ First athlete in history with a disability to receive a NCAA Division 1 scholarship to play tennis⇨ USA Junior Wheelchair Tennis World Team Cup Coach – ranked #1 in the world⇨ Awarded 2018 Athletes in Excellence Award⇨ First person with a disability to win the NPC body building competition⇨ Successfully completed the Alaska’s Sadler Ultra Challenge, the most demanding handcycle race in the worldAbout Vision Zero Cleveland:Vision Zero Cleveland is an initiative of the City of Cleveland and Cleveland City Council, in partnership with local agencies and community groups.
