The Vision Zero Summit is a convening centered on Milwaukee’s commitment to eliminating traffic deaths and life-changing injuries by 2037.
Under Mayor Cavalier Johnson’s leadership, Milwaukee has seen three consecutive years of traffic death reductions, but more work remains. This summit brings together local leaders, transportation professionals, advocates, and residents to build on that momentum and accelerate implementation of the Vision Zero Action Plan.
Throughout the day, the Summit will showcase proven strategies and innovative, people-centered solutions that advance safety, equity, and accessibility across Milwaukee’s streets and neighborhoods. Looking beyond infrastructure alone, sessions will explore a holistic approach to traffic safety, spanning policy, technology, the justice system, driver education, public transit, and community-led initiatives, while centering the needs of people who walk, bike, ride transit, and drive.
Through keynote conversations, panels, tours, interactive workshops, and community-led discussions featuring local and national speakers, participants will learn from local and national successes, share solutions, and leave with actionable ideas to help reduce traffic violence and create safer streets for all.
More than a conference, the Vision Zero Summit is a call to action. Whether you’re a city official, planner, engineer, nonprofit leader, or a neighbor passionate about safer streets, join us to connect, collaborate, and help shape a future where every Milwaukeean can move safely and freely – no matter where they live or how they travel.
