Overview

Slow down through visible mending. Together we will repair beloved clothes, practice care, & find renewal in small, meaningful expressions.

Visible Mending Workshop

WHEN THINGS ARE FRAYING AROUND US, WE FEEL IT IN OUR LIVES AND IN THE WIDER WORLD. VISIBLE MENDING IS A THERAPEUTIC WAY TO CELEBRATE THE PROCESS OF REPAIR AND RENEWAL, STARTING WITH THINGS THAT ARE SMALL, MANAGEABLE, AND CLOSE AT HAND.

Bring what’s worn: socks, sweaters, denim etc.

We’ll sit together, consider the item's potential, imagine its future, practice care and creative compassion as a skill that blooms when nurtured. The careful work of our hands becomes a way of steadying ourselves through positive expression. As we mend what we can touch, restorations beyond our control become more imaginable.

We will be guided by lovely Kimberly Benson who is an advocate for visible mending, and is the General Manager of Friends Wilderness Center.

"Imperfections become a canvas for creative expression and a means to celebrate healing and renewal." -Kimberly Benson
