Save your favorite socks, sweaters, and other clothes and textiles by learning how to mend them!

Self-taught mending enthusiast Ollie Cultrara will guide participants in three basic visible mending techniques for patching and darning your own items. Participants should bring their own materials, including: <ul><li>Cloth item to mend, </li><li>Sewing needle, </li><li>Thread and/or embroidery floss, </li><li>Fabric of similar texture for patching (a spare sock or scrap of fabric can work), </li><li>Scissors</li></ul>Optional: <ul><li>Sewing pins, </li><li>Embroidery hoop or firm object (like a glass jar) to place behind your sewing, </li><li>Rubber band to hold fabric in place over the firm object</li></ul>
