“…A superb pianist...with an unusually interesting and adventurous set of pieces, Zhu proved a thoughtful, sensitive performer.” — The New York Times

Praised as “especially impressive” and “a thoughtful, sensitive performer” who“balanced lyrical warmth and crisp clarity”(Tommasini–The New York Times), pianist Zhu Wang was awarded First Prize in the 2020 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions. His Carnegie Hall debut made The New York Times’“Best of Classical Music 2021” list.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Internationally acclaimed pianist Zhu Wang takes audiences on a spellbinding journey spanning centuries of musical genius. The evening begins with Mozart's effervescent Rondo in D Major, followed by the poetic introspection of Schubert's Four Impromptus. Grieg's vivacious "From the Carnival" evokes peasant dances full of rustic charm. After intermission, Debussy's shimmering La plus que lente casts an impressionistic spell. The program culminates with Brahms' monumental Handel Variations, a breathtaking tour-de-force of contrapuntal mastery. Wang's virtuosic pianism and profound musicality make this a night to remember.
