We have some amazing speakers that will be sharing tactics and strategies for startups and raising money.
Panelists:
1. Maxine 'Maxi' Kozler - Co Managing Director LDR Ventures Partners LLC
Maxi is the Co-Managing Director of LDR Ventures, a Los Angeles based female led venture capital firm. Maxi’s expertise includes: early stage capital raising, deal structuring and syndication, entertainment, intellectual property, licensing, branding, marketing and PR/social media. She invests in and advises founders at the angel and seed stages to grow their businesses from proof of concept stage to full use of their capitalization. Investments and Advisory roles include: Thrive Market, sweetgreen, Territory Foods, junzi kitchens, Shaka Tea and Parachute Home.
Maxi also gives her time to the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Advisory Council at Cal Poly University, as an Executive and VC in residence at the Hot House Incubator at Cal Poly, as a Pod Leader for Declare (fka Parity Partners) and as a mentor for SheWorx and the Black Girls Making Millions Academy founded by Mahisha Dillenger.
In addition to investing, Maxi spearheads events in LA, SF and NYC with other female investors to teach women how to invest at the Angel and Seed levels in order to address the funding disparity of capital that goes to Female Founders.
2. Aaron Michel - Partner 1984 Ventures
Aaron is a partner at 1984 Ventures, a seed stage venture capital firm in San Francisco. Prior to that he founded PathSource, a venture-backed startup that rose to be the top career app in the Apple App Store and was acquired in 2017. He sits on the executive committee of San Francisco's workforce investment board. Named an Innovation Rockstar by the Boston Business Journal, Aaron has written for Entrepreneur Magazine, Fast Company and a range of business outlets. He graduated from Harvard Business School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
3. Emanuel Martinez - General Managing Director of GreenHills Ventures, LLC
Emanuel Martinez, General Managing Director - Mr. Martinez is the General Managing Director of GreenHills Ventures, LLC, a private investment holding company managing several investment arms headquartered in New York City and Luxembourg. Mr. Martinez manages the firm's investment activities, portfolio management activities, strategic partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions with a primary focus on the sectors in which the firm makes its investments. Prior to joining GreenHills Ventures, Mr. Martinez is a private investor who participated in the successful acquisition of sixdegrees.com by YouthStream Media Network (OTCBB: YSTM) for $125 million and E@wonders, Inc. by BuyItNow for $150 million. Mr. Martinez is also a financial consultant and advisor to various multi-family offices and corporate investment firms.
4. Victoria Mehran - Associate at Expert Dojo
Victoria is an Investment Associate at Expert Dojo; over ten years of experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, and business development in various industries, including Sensor & Technology, Semiconductor, Oil & Gas, Asset Management, and Private Equity Industries in the UK, US, and Europe. Since 2018, she has been investing, mentoring, and advising women entrepreneurs in their journey.
