The Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs is proud to sponsor this event to parents/caregivers of children with special health care needs:                                     Parent Mentor TrainingThe Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs invites you to a Virtual Parent Mentor Training for Region 3* residents. !!`OPEN TO ALL REGIONS NOW`!!<ul><li> Remember when your child was newly diagnosed?</li><li> Would it have helped to have someone to talk with who has “been there”?</li><li> Are you interested in supporting other parents?</li></ul>In our interactive Parent Mentor Training learn from a fellow parent about:<ul><li> Parent-to-Parent Support</li><li> Communication Skills</li><li> Listening Techniques</li><li> Community Resources</li></ul> If you are a parent, caregiver, or guardian of a child/youth with special health care needs and would like to make a difference in the lives of others, please join us for this opportunity to become a trained Parent Mentor.The Training will take place these dates and times:Tuesday November 17th: 9am-11:30amWednesday November 18th: 9am-11:30amThursday November 19th: 9am-12pm This training is open to all families who have a child with a medical, physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional condition. As a trained Parent Mentor, you will become a part of our statewide network of volunteer parents supporting one another, sharing resources, and helping to navigate various systems.*Region 3 includes the counties of Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Otsego, Montmorency, Alpena, Crawford, Oscoda, Alcona, Roscommon, Ogemaw and Iosco.**Participants will be given a $50 gift card, Medical Care Binder and a Family Center Notebook** If you have any questions prior to the day of training, please call the Family Phone Line: 800-359-3722 or email: <a href="mailto:adkinsd@michigan.gov" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">adkinsd@michigan.gov</a>
