Authentic Trainings provides evidenced based trainings for human service professionals.  We specialize in substance use disorder, trauma responsiveness and Motivational Interviewing.  Our trainings are designed from an adult learning perspective.  We believe that adults need to understand the relevance of the training and how it fits into their own practice.

Most people coming into recovery, or even thinking about recovery, are often confused.  Learning to use affirmations, reflections, all in the Spirit of MI, will help you quickly get on the same page with others.  Working with people in recovery requires compassion, good listening skills and a strategy to assist someone as they go through the  Stages of Change.   MI will provide these skills and more.</h3><h3>Zoom Meeting 05/15/2021 9:00 am to 4:00 pm</h3><h3>The Spirit of MI comes from a perspective that the person is the expert in their own life, and already has the answers they need.  We just help them find those answers.</h3><p>Partnership is the key to come along side those you work with.</p><h3><strong>In this training you will learn:</strong></h3><p><strong>PACE - Partnership, Acceptance, Compassion, Evocation</strong></p><p><strong>OARS - Open-ended Questions, Affirmations, Reflections, Summaries</strong></p><p><strong>DARN-CAT- Desire, Ability, Reasons, Need, Commitment, Actuation, Taking Steps</strong></p><p>Through the use of interactive activities, you will practice these skills, as you learn to identify and emphasize change talk, and minimize sustain talk.  You will dive deep into each of these skill areas to learn specific techniques to help the person you are working with get clarity.  This is a very practical training that emphasizes the practice of the skills and the integration of the model.</p><p> There are generally no refunds for this class.  If we are notified within 24 hours of the class, we will offer a replacement class in the future.  In certain extenuating circumstances, we will consider a refund, if we are notified within 24 hrs of the class.</p><h3>Trainers:</h3><p>Sandy Rivers is an advanced MI trainer approved by ASAP-NYCB and OASAS to provide basic, intermediate and advanced level MI training.  Sandy is a CCAR trained Recovery Coach.  She has 30+ years of experience in working with addictions.</p><p>Lisa Ardner is a MINT(Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers) trainer for Motivational Interviewing and is approved by ASAP-NYCB and OASAS to provide basic, intermediate and advanced MI training.
