About this event

What will I gain from this workshop?

After attending this workshop you will leave with the ability to think scientifically, scale effective coaching practices, and confidently address the gray zone of continuous improvement. These skills will empower you to approach challenges more effectively, make better decisions, and contribute to the success of your organization.

About:

In this engaging virtual Kata in the Classroom (KiC) workshop, you'll dive into the practice of the Improvement and Coaching Kata from the comfort of your own office. This dynamic virtual workshop, facilitated by Gemba Academy’s Managing Director, Ron Pereira, promises to be a fun, fast-paced, experience.

Overview:

Rooted in the principles formulated by Lean Pioneer Mike Rother, Kata in the Classroom (KiC) is a simple, effective approach for introducing the concept of scientific thinking. These “routines” empower organizations to solve problems with more speed and effectiveness than traditional continuous improvement methods.

Agenda:

  • Introduction to Toyota Kata
  • Hands-On Virtual Workshop with Breakout Sessions
  • Interactive Q&A Session with Ron Pereira
  • *The total estimated time for this virtual workshop is 2.5 hours.

What You Will Learn:

  • How to Think Scientifically: You will deliberately practice the Improvement Kata and Coaching Kata in order to cultivate the ability to think scientifically.
  • Scaling Effective Coaching: Discover a proven method to expand impactful coaching across your organization, fostering adaptiveness and innovation.
  • How to Attack the Gray Zone: Knowing where to start and what to do next can be difficult. By the end of this virtual workshop you will be equipped to attack the so-called “gray zone” of Continuous Improvement with confidence and purpose.

Who Should Attend:

  • Leaders at all levels (team leaders, supervisors, managers, executives)
  • Continuous improvement specialists
  • Coaches who are looking to improve their skills
  • Anyone who aspires to become a leader, continuous improvement specialist, or coach

Technical Requirements:

For optimal engagement, each participant must have access to a computer, high-speed internet, and be able to access a shared MS Excel online spreadsheet. This spreadsheet will be a collaborative tool used during the breakout sessions.

Testimonials:

“I've had a paradigm shift in goal setting since attending the workshop. The Kata approach’s focus on setting short-term, targeted goals to tackle one obstacle at a time is refreshing. Our usual method was to set objectives extending to 90 days and beyond. Kata's agility is a game-changer. We're eager to incorporate the Kata methodology into our lean training and execution framework.” - Bret Rice, Director of Process Improvement, Taylor Corporation.
