The National Civil War Naval Museum presents the virtual Grog Ration. This unique event will explore the history of the ship’s cracker also known as cabin bread, sea biscuits, sheet iron, molar breakers, worm castles, and other inventive names. By landlubbers, the term “hardtack” captures the imagination. Join Jeff Seymour, the museum’s Director of History &amp; Collections, for an inglorious look at the ship’s cracker; a staple of navies around the world from about the 15th Century to the early 20th Century.Be sure to register before the event; suitable for adult audience.When: Thursday, January 28th at 7:00 PM ESTWhere: online via Zoom Cost: Free (Donations always appreciated)
