As young adults, the passing of a parent profoundly affects our personal grief and family dynamics. This group offers a nurturing environment to address the multi-faceted aspects of loss, whether the loss was recent or it’s been years.

The loneliness and confusion I felt, after suddenly losing my dad, influenced me to start this group. I had just turned 30 and had no idea how to handle my grief on top of navigating the ways my family dynamics changed. My hope is for others to know they aren’t alone.

We honor legacies, embrace grief's complexities, and journey toward renewal together. From sharing memories to discussing coping strategies, we foster mutual healing and growth. This group provides support and strength, whether you seek guidance, empathy, or simply a listening ear.

    Topics We Will Cover Include:

    • Coping with grief and its ripple effects.
    • Healing strategies for relationships.
    • Benefits of nervous system regulation and boundaries
    • Expressive Healing: monthly writing prompts.

    Why Join This Group?

    • Join a community of young adults that understand your unique grief journey.
    • Learn coping mechanisms for both personal loss and family dynamics.
    • Manage the waves of grief and find a sense of renewal amidst the pain.
    • Experience the cathartic power of expressive writing in a safe space.

I've never joined a support group, what do I need to know?

Group settings can help us feel less alone. Sharing your personal story or feelings is always optional. A benefit of a group is to know there are other people going through a similar experience, whether you just listen or choose to speak about your experience or both.

    Who is this meeting for?

This group specifically is for young adults 18-50 who have lost a parent. Grieving parent loss is painful at all ages, as is any other type of grief and loss. I will be launching more support groups in the future.

Does my loss have to be recent?

No. Grievers are all too familiar with the non-linear waves of grief and how it continues to affect us at all stages of life.

    Will our sessions be recorded?

No. Confidentiality is very important and nothing will be recorded. Everyone and everything shared in these groups will remain confidential.
