A 3-hour online Virtual Facilitation Workshop by Lizard Brain!

Welcome the Virtual Facilitation Workshop by <a href="http://www.lizardbrain.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Lizard Brain</a>! In this 3-hour interactive, online workshop, we’ll cover best practices and modalities for virtual facilitation. We’ll show you how to translate your favorite in-person modalities to the virtual space. We’ll cover how to prevent distractions, increase engagement, and have truly productive and fun virtual meetings.This is a hands-on, experiential workshop! Along with other participants from around the world, you’ll brainstorm ideas, inclusively decide from among those ideas, and collaborate to create your own virtual modality! To give you practice with small groups and specialized attention, we&#x27;re limiting this workshop to 18 participants. Here&#x27;s just a few things we&#x27;ll cover:<ul><li>How to clear distractions and respectfully invite participants to remain present and engaged.</li><li>How to &quot;set the table&quot; for virtual facilitation by communicating a clear outcome, agenda, agreements, and roles</li><li>Orientation to the two virtual collaboration platforms we&#x27;ll be using, Zoom and MURAL</li><li>Brainstorming using a collaborative, digital stickywall and whiteboard</li><li>Modalities to prioritize and decide between options that makes use of many hands at once</li></ul>Plus, it&#x27;s loaded with best practices for your presence as a virtual facilitator that transcend platforms and technologies. We WON&#x27;T be giving tutorials on software! That&#x27;s what YouTube is for. Instead, we&#x27;ll give you principles and hands on-experience with basic virtual tools that you can apply to any tools of your choice. We’ll also hold office hours after the workshop to answer any questions in detail and work through any challenges with virtual facilitation that are particular to your work.So please join us. Because facilitating in your pajamas is awesome.How to prepare:
Once you’ve registered and in advance of the workshop, please finish the following prework:

You should have at least 10 Mbps, and ideally above 20 Mbps.
Please participate using a laptop or desktop computer using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Do not use an iPad or smartphone. Do not use the following browsers: Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Safari, or Opera.
If you have them, a good headset and an external mouse will enhance your experience but are not required.
2. ZOOM:
Zoom is the webmeeting platform we&#x27;ll use for our audio and text-based communication. This should take about 10 minutes to complete.

This step is HIGHLY recommended... you&#x27;ll get a LOT more out of the workshop if you&#x27;re already familiar with MURAL. This should take about 15 minutes to complete.
