Our StoryIn 1906, the first incorporated advertising league was established in New York City to encourage collaboration and innovation amongst industry professionals, with the notable exception of some — Women. Recognizing their careers hinged on access to the same opportunities as their male peers, women sought entry to these clubs, but were denied. So in 1912, our founder Christine Frederick established The League of Advertising Women, which later became Advertising Women of New York. We provided women with professional education, scholarships, and access to industry events to further their careers. More than a century later, we are She Runs It, a global community of ~6,000 members in 44 states and 15 countries. In everything we do, we pursue our mission to pave the way for more women of every background, ethnicity, and identity to lead at every level of her career in marketing, media, and tech.
