Virtual Arts Enrichment Program

Partnering with Westbury Arts, Art Out of Anything is providing 6 weeks of visual arts and musical theater for children ages 8 - 11 years old! Each class is 90 minutes long live, via zoom.

Missed a class? No problem, our teaching artists will provide full process videos each week so all students can review or explore every project whenever they like during the 6 week program.

Class descriptions -

Visual Arts - Inspired by a contemporary “artist of the week”, students will create fun, engaging artwork that builds their conceptual skills. Students will acquire experience in design, an understanding of how art is expressed differently across cultures, and the important role art plays in our lives and the world around us.

Musical Theater Study - Students will learn about the art and history of musical theater, and prepare our own Zoom Show! We will cover all the elements of theater, from set design to character work, and express our own stories, modeled after shows we love.

Supplies/Materials - At AOOA our mission is to use re-purposed materials whenever possible and supplies that can be found at home to make creativity accessible to all. A supply list will be provided upon registration for the visual art class. If you are local to New York, you may also purchase our Creativity Kit, complete will all the supplies you will need for the 6 week program. Creativity Kits are $20/per registration, in addition to the $150 program fee. Kits will be distributed via curbside pick up in Westbury, Long Island.

About Us - Art Out of Anything provides arts and cultural programming to students and teachers through residencies, classes and professional development opportunities. We design, implement and manage programs in Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island. Partnerships and Collaborations – AOOA has partnered with the NYC Department of Probation, Center for Educational Innovation, Village of Westbury, Westbury Arts, and Center for Court Innovation, Huntington Arts Council, Diocese of Brooklyn, and The Simple Good of Chicago.

Our teaching artists have a wealth of experience in traditional classroom settings and arts programming, and are dedicated working artists in their own disciplines. Our unique curriculum is created by our teaching artists. They have made the transition from classroom to virtual education successfully and are well-versed in using all of the tools at their disposal to implement their classes within the confines of our new normal.
