VIP for Youth: Victims are Important People III

Overview

This is a 6-hour Victim Awareness class for youth 13-24 in the Riverside County Probation Department. It will be held at the THLP office, in person. from 5-6pm for 6 weeks.

Goals

1. To gain knowledge and understanding of the impact of crime on the victim and surrounding communities, including the community in which the juvenile resides

2. Utilizing a restorative approach to teach youth creative and effective ways of making amends and repairing damages to victims and properties

3. To teach the importance of taking responsibility and accountability for bad decisions, action, and reactions.

4. To assist in the development of self-esteem and confidence, as well as interpersonal skills and communication to discuss insights and understanding of the various contributors that led to delinquent behaviors and crime.
