Vibe Coding: Build a Business from Scratch with AI

It’s never been easier to build something — and never harder to know what’s worth building. In this session, Bethany Crystal shares a behind-the-scenes look at how she turned a scrappy AI prototype into a real-world education product, MuseKat, without writing a line of code.

You’ll learn:

  • How to use AI and low or no-code tools (like Cursor, Replit, ChatGPT, and Claude) to move from idea to MVP,
  • The fundamentals of “vibe coding” (the art of building from instinct, not instruction) and the limitations of scaling with this model,
  • Where most early-stage builders get stuck, and how to push through,
  • How to prepare yourself for a lifelong career of learning beyond the classroom,
  • An inside peek at today’s technology job market in an AI-first era of work,
  • Whether you're an aspiring founder, solo builder, or just AI-curious, this session will give you a practical playbook to get started, and a clear-eyed view of what it really takes to go from vibes to viable.

This workshop has the opportunity for hands-on practice. If you want to build alongside others we recommend downloading Cursor, or creating a free account on Replit, Claude or ChatGPT. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to access one free month of ReplitPro after the workshop.

Founded in 2012, Girls Who Code (GWC) is an international nonprofit on a mission to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. GWC is leading the movement to inspire, educate, and equip students who identify as girls or nonbinary with the computing skills needed to pursue 21st-century opportunities.

GWC creates opportunities for students to start their computer science journey, continue through the pipeline and enter the tech workforce. GWC has served 500K+ students and over 50% of them are from historically underrepresented groups in tech. We have over 115K college age and workforce ready young people in our community.

Through our free programs, we are building the largest and most diverse pipeline of female and nonbinary engineers and will reach gender parity in new entry-level tech jobs by 2030.
