Veterans Day 5k @ Goat Patch Brewing | 2024 CO Brewery Running Series
Join us for the Veterans Day 5k, and great, local craft beer at Goat Patch Brewing Company in Colorado Springs on November 16, 2024
DATE CHANGE ANNOUCEMENT. THIS EVENT IS NOW TAKING PLACE ON NOV 16, 2024.
Due to the forecast of heavy snow from 11/6-11/9, we have decided to move our event to Saturday, November 16th.
The decision is based on several factors:
- Potential for unsafe (icy/snow) conditions on the 5k trail. The city is unsure if they will have the time to clear the path before the event.
- Potential for unsafe (icy/snow) conditions on the brewery patio where we are set up for the pre and post-event activities. The brewery is unsure if they will have the time to clear the patio before the event.
- Potential for unsafe driving conditions to/from the event.
Join us for The Veterans Day 5k on November 16, 2024, for a 5k-ish, fun run event that starts and ends at this awesome taproom in Colorado Springs. Run, walk, jog - whatever goes! Complete the course and celebrate with us and a FREE, local craft brew at the finish line.
Start windows will be available at 10:00 AM & 10:30 AM. Each runner/walker will need to start during their 30-minute start wave window. Please do not arrive at check-in more than 30 minutes before your selected start time begins.
Cross the finish line and celebrate! All participants receive:
- A FREE craft brew from Goat Patch Brewing Company
- Your choice of a collector’s pint glass or seasonal swag item from the Brewery Running Series
- Your chance to win sweet door prizes from the Colorado Brewery Running Series, our event sponsors, and the host brewery.
- Access to event festivities: live music, food trucks, local vendors, fun with our partners and sponsors, goodies, and giveaways
- And more!
Our mission is to be active, have fun and give back to our local community. Since our inaugural Colorado event in 2016, we have been able to donate over $140,000 back to local Colorado non-profits (with over $400k raised to date nationwide). This event will add to that tally! 10% of all proceeds go directly to a local organization that will be on site promoting their organization. So not only do you get to enjoy some healthy activity and great, local beer - you are helping us support local organizations that do important work in our community.

Important details:
- This is an untimed, fun run. All levels of walkers, runners, and joggers are welcome.
- This is an open course, meaning roads will NOT be closed. You are responsible for obeying all traffic laws and regulations.
- We create each route to start and end at the brewery and to show off the surrounding neighborhood. The course will be marked with arrows and volunteers to help you know where to go.
- You must bring a valid ID or driver's license. You do not need to be 21 to enjoy the event, but you must be 21 to enjoy the beer. Please drink responsibly. Registered, underage participants will receive a token for a FREE non-alcoholic beverage.
- Our events are rain or shine! If conditions become unsafe to run, we will still hang out and drink beer.
- There will not be a bag check; please plan accordingly and dress appropriately for the weather.
- Dogs and strollers are welcome on the course, with care and caution. Please remember - you are running at your own risk on city sidewalks/streets/trails, which might not be suitable for your 4-legged and /or pint-size running buddies. You will also want to check with the brewery to make sure you can abide by their dog / underage policies. Please make the best decision possible for your crew.
- Colorado Brewery Running Series merchandise, including shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, heat press brewery logos, drinkware, and seasonal items will be available at the event.
- There is public parking available. Is public transit an option for you? Check and see if there’s an accessible route nearby.
- Please drink responsibly. We always encourage carpooling and safe, designated drivers.
