Verizon's Hack Day: Eat, Drink and Code

Are you interested in developing applications with some of the unique technology assets on the planet? Verizon assets include Wireless, Wireline, SDN, NFV, Cloud, Machine-to-Machine (M2M), Internet of things (IoT), Content Delivery Network (CDN), Go90, AOL and MapQuest. We are hosting an extra-long Hackathon event to give developers enough time to build applications that leverage Verizon’s diverse portfolio of assets. Participation is free but space is limited. All participants will receive a gift and we’ll be giving away some great prizes. We’ll also have experts on hand in case you have any questions and demos will be available for you to experience our current applications/platforms.
To bring you even more chances to win and learn more, Verizon is teaming with DreamFactory and MapQuest for this event.

In order to provide you with enough time to code on Saturday, we have arranged for a workshop on Thursday, September 8th from 3:00 P.M. – 4:30 PM CDT.  This webcast will provide in-depth information on Verizon's Cloud platform and applications and DreamFactory's and MapQuests’ applications. The following provides information on how to attend this workshop.

And once you have gained all that knowledge on Thursday, you can plan to start coding on Saturday at 11 AM and run until 9 PM. We’ll be supplying food, drinks and snacks so you’ll just need to turn up with a laptop and an idea. There's no set theme, so let your imagination lead you. 
There are multiple ways to win awards at our hackathon -- you can build an app from scratch that complements Verizon's infrastructure and technologies, build the best add-on, Tool, or API to the Verizon Cloud or DreamFactory’s API -- for a chance to win one of 4 BB-8TM Spheros we’re giving away and possibly qualify for a development contract with the Verizon Cloud Team!
