About this event

Join The GREYSTONE Collective’s featured artist Talia Kimberly Wright for “Binding Our Stories,” an interactive bookmaking workshop. Over three days (6:00 – 8:30 p.m. | June 21, Friday and 2:00-4:30pm | June 22-23, Saturday & Sunday), participants learn both simple and complex bookbinding methods and make their very own books (materials provided). Wright contextualizes the history of the artists’ book and makes time for group discussion and critical investigation of The GREYSTONE Library’s growing collection of artists’ books. By the end of the three-day workshop, participants leave with at least one hand-made book and resources for future projects. The experience also includes “Beyond the Page,” a visit to the Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection at the John M. Flaxman Library at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. All session attendance required , RSVP and complete registration at Venerate, Venerate! Workshop Registration.
