Visit with Residents

About this event

During the tour, we will learn about the land's history, walk the grounds, meet the residents and visit our permaculture food forest. You'll learn how modern day animal agriculture impacts the animals it exploits, our environment and our own health.

You will hear stories of the hardships some of our residents have overcome and see how happy they are now on our sanctuary.

You will have the opportunity to meet guests like Pistachio the pig, Harry the sheep, goats Ron and George and turkey residents Annabelle and Coquette who all love to meet new people.

The property is located in Elsie, Oregon which is 55 miles west of Portland and 22 miles east of Cannon Beach. There is plenty of hiking nearby as well as an Elk refuge.

Things to note:

Don't forget to wear appropriate shoes and clothing. Boots and waterproof shoes are recommended.

Waivers will need to be filled out before the tour and all children under 15 will need supervision. Dogs are not permitted on the property and cannot be left in the car.

Drugs and Alcohol are not permitted

Outside food is not permitted

Frequently asked questions

Why are dogs not allowed?

Our residents are prey animals and get very nervous around even the most well behaved dogs. We have two guard dogs on the property that also take their roles as guardians very seriously and could be aggressive towards visiting dogs.

Why can't outside food be brought onto the property?

Our residents are on strict nutritional diets and some foods are poisonous to them.
