About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

The event:

Set in Royal William Yard, one of Plymouth's most stunning locations, Steel Brew is one of the best independent breweries around and provides a brilliant space for communities to share unforgettable moments – let's create one together.

Hosted by Upshot and MC'd by the enigmatic Chris Bentley (see, Building Brands and Notworking Networking, amongst his many successful ventures and public appearances), you'll hear from Owen, the author, and some special guests about the book.

With a free welcome drink, plus a stocked bar for later, pizzas (or equivalent delightful morsels) and a chance to network/let your hair down/avoid the kids for a few hours, it's a no brainer.

What's the book about?

Well, I'm glad you asked. It's all about identity. Brand values, specifically. Every founder or business leader faces brand struggles, whether they realise it or not. This short, sharp book reframes the way brand values are defined - showing how to turn them into powerful pillars that drive differentiation, marketing, culture, and growth. Practical, optimistic, and packed with real-world advice. Maybe it's for you? Or for someone you know? Or you just want to come and party, and that's fine too.

Good to know:

We can't wait to welcome you to Steel Brew! To help you get the most out of the evening (and answer a few questions you might have), here’s a quick guide with all the key info. If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, just get in touch — we’re happy to help. P.S. Final details are still being confirmed on a few things, but we’ll keep you posted!

1. Where can I park at Royal William Yard?

It is easy to reach Royal William Yard by car and parking is available on site. A pay and display parking system is operated at Royal William Yard, which is managed by SIP Car Parks. There are also some spaces nearby in the Devil's Point or Cremyll Ferry car parks. Please plan your travel in advance - there are plenty of ways to get here.

2. Should I eat first?

We are looking forward to hosting and providing food for everyone from around 7pm. This is likely to be fresh pizza, although this will be confirmed later. If you have any queries about dietary requirements please do let us know in advance. There should be enough for everyone to eat plenty, but if you want to sneak a marmalade sandwich under your hat, nobody would blame you.

3. What time should I arrive?

Doors open from 6:00 PM. We recommend arriving before 6:30 PM if you don’t want to miss any of the fun! Officially, the event is expected to wrap up around 9:00 PM – but of course, feel free to stick around afterwards if you like – we will be!

4. Is there a dress code?

Nope, come as you are! We're expecting to be inside mainly, so dress as you feel comfortable.
