About this event

This is a 2 part training each consisting of a 2 hour session that aims to understand how trauma-informed organizations work in understanding victims with trauma history.

DATES & TIMES:

Thursday, May 9, 2024 ~ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST

SUMMARY:

Trauma-Informed organizations are built upon the understanding that trauma can manifest behaviorally and the collaboration across systems is important to link individuals to trauma-informed services/treatments to increase their ability to recovery. The process to becoming a trauma-informed organization is incremental and often begins with a commitment to examine and change the organization's culture. Although a total transformation of this kind takes deep, sustained effort, this training provides guidance on how to become trauma-informed and how to assess, modify protocols and procedures to respond to individuals with trauma history.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Outline the principles of trauma-informed organizations
  • Identify opportunities within their organization’s ways of working and communicating to become more trauma-informed
  • Apply trauma-informed elements to their work
