About this event

Thank you for your interest in Utah Innovation Center's SBIR 101 Workshop. The workshop is held virtually, but we have an in-person meeting once a quarter. During the event, we will discuss the federal government's SBIR/STTR programs and the resources our office has available to assist with the application process. There is no charge, and it lasts an hour with time for questions during and after the presentation. Slides will be provided after the event.

These federal programs provide over $4 billion in non-dilutive grants and contracts to small businesses working on innovative technology. If you have a technology that you are trying to get off the ground or need additional research and development funding, the SBIR and STTR programs can be an important step to help move your technology forward.

We have scheduled in-person sessions for February, May, August, and November to foster networking, promote ecosystem building, and facilitate face-to-face interaction. The physical venue for the in-person SBIR 101 is The Mill Entrepreneurship Center, located at 9690 S 300 W, Room 333, Sandy, UT 84070. During these on-site sessions, feel free to bring your lunch and maximize this opportunity for engaging discussion and connections.

We look forward to having you join the event.

The Utah Innovation Center, housed within the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, provides a funding roadmap for Utah startups and emerging companies developing innovative technology. The Center helps drive the state’s technology innovation ecosystem opportunities through the federal SBIR/STTR programs. This non-dilutive funding mechanism — both grants and contracts — is dedicated to the research and development of new technology.
