Utah Clean School Bus Program Launch
By Utah Department of Environmental Quality
Online event
Overview
Join us for the Utah Clean School Bus Program launch. Access $54M for electric buses, including free pilots and funding for larger projects.
$54 million is available for Utah public school districts to replace older combustion-engine buses with electric alternatives. Funding includes free electric school bus pilot projects and reimbursements for larger projects of ten or more buses.
Transitioning to electric fleets can feel like a major operational shift. That’s why we’re prioritizing a pilot-based approach. This program allows you to:
- Test the technology at no cost to your district (receive up to $405,000 for an electric bus)
- Pilot an electric bus built by your preferred manufacturer
- Evaluate performance on your own routes and in your local operating conditions
- Experience cost savings firsthand (districts piloting electric buses in Utah are seeing estimated operational savings of $65,000 per year)
Who should attend?
- Transportation and fleet management staff
- Finance and business staff
- District leadership (superintendents, assistant superintendents, and school board members)
In this 60-minute webinar, we will cover:
- The pilot opportunity & larger project funding: How to access $54 million in available funding to secure a pilot vehicle or support a project with ten or more buses.
- Technical assistance: Meet our partners and connect with representatives of electric utilities who will provide support throughout your project.
- Q&A: Get direct answers to your questions about range, winter performance, maintenance, and more.
