Would you like to learn how to use your students' feedback and student engagement data towards your professional development?

The workshop is an opportunity for participants to experience and work with a suite of online structured resources which seek to support teaching staff in attending to feedback from student evaluations of teaching and the prospects learning analytics afford. The workshop will showcase the guidance documents and scenario-based resources that have been created as part of the <a href="https://www.ul.ie/quality/stela" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">STELA (STudent Evaluation and Learning Analytics) project</a> to help participants think about where these might fit into their own practice or those they work with. There will be a strong emphasis placed upon reflection and active approaches from participants throughout the workshop. Breakouts rooms and structured activities will be used to allow participants by the end of the session to reflect upon these three guiding principles:<ul><li>Implications for teaching practice and curriculum design in light of student evaluations </li><li>Implications for teaching practice and curriculum design in light of learning analytics </li><li>Incorporation of student feedback and learning analytics into their professional development</li></ul>The workshop will make use of the openly available to the sector resources from the funded project to help participants consider the following:1.	How to amend or modify teaching/curriculum considering student evaluations and learning analytics, based on scenario-based exemplars.2.	How to communicate with or demonstrate to students that their feedback has been listened to and acted upon.3.	How to use student evaluations of teaching and learning analytics in professional development. <ul><li>Reflecting upon the purpose of student evaluations</li><li>Inward and outward-facing reflection</li><li>Seizing the opportunity for modifications to improve both parties&#x27; experience</li></ul>

Dr Edd Pitt is the Programme Director for the Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and Senior Lecturer in Higher Education and Academic Practice in the Centre for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Kent, UK. Edd has recently been collaborating with Academics in the UK, Ireland and Australia. His principle research field is Assessment and Feedback with a particular focus upon student's emotional processing during feedback situations.
