Creative approaches in social and educational research

We will confirm a new date shortly ***Creative approaches are increasingly popular in social and educational research as they can offer avenues for gathering data on, and interpreting the richness of human experience. Creative methods include visual and performative, as well as the use of narrative and creative writing approaches. This online seminar offers theoretical and methodological insights on a range of creative and pedagogic approaches to data gathering and analysis. It also focuses on issues of interpretation and its role in narrative research through offering alternative forms of ‘giving voice&#x27;. It is envisaged that the session will include practical tasks where attendees will experiment with such methods - with a particular focus on participant voice, and how creative approaches can access and embolden same. The seminar will feature a presentation from (Emeritus) Professor Ruth Leitch, Queens University Belfast, who has published widely on the use of creative approaches.
