GENERAL: The Special Forces Underwater Operations (SFUWO) School, C/2/2 SWTG(A), will host the 2023 Combat Diver Competition at their facility in Key West, FL on 24-28 September 2023. The format will be a three-day combat diving and maritime-focused competition, followed by a day for MAROPS CAPEX/Mod Demo and SFUWO led discussion on ARSOF’s future role in the Maritime Domain. Competitors will be challenged both mentally and physically to determine the best combat buddy pair across USASOC, NSW, MARSOC, and AFSOC.
PURPOSE: The Combat Diver Competition is intended to challenge the technical skill, training methodology, and diving-related knowledge of the competitors. The events are designed to test competitor’s physical fitness, mental toughness, and mastery Combat Diving and MAROPS basic. The intent of the Combat Diver Competition is to foster camaraderie amongst the SOF Combat Diver community. The CAPEX and Senior Leader Forum Discussion held on 28 SEP, will focus on MAROPS Modernization and ARSOF’s future role in the Maritime Domain.
PARTICIPATION: Competitors must be graduates of a SOCOM/JSAT-accredited Combat Diving Course and be a graduate of an accredited static-line basic parachutist course. Competitors must also provide proof of Diving and Static Line Currency and Hazardous Duty Orders. Teams must register no later than 25 August 2023 utilizing the provided registration form (Encl. 1). SFUWO will confirm/deny your reservation status within five days of receipt of registration form.
