US Refinement Solveathon Workshop

Interactive workshop designed to refine and receive feedback on solutions to the Reimagining Pathways to Employment in the US Challenge

<h2>What is a Solveathon?</h2>Solveathon workshops are highly interactive design workshops aimed at developing and improving great solutions . This event will be led by MIT Solve staff and trained facilitators to focus on refining ideas and receiving feedback from XPERT workers through the design thinking process.The <a href="https://solve.mit.edu/challenges/ReimaginingPathways" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Reimagining Pathways to Employment in the US Challenge</a>. seeks the most promising solutions that accelerate pathways to current and future employment across the US. Challenge winners will have access to a $625,000 prize pool. These grants will fund the development of validation pilots with <a href="https://solve.mit.edu/articles/america-s-best-kept-future-of-work-secret" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">innovative US Workforce Boards</a> for the benefit of an anticipated 1 million displaced workers. The submission deadline is November 9.You must have an existing solution that has been submitted to the Reimagining Pathways to Employment in the US Challenge to join this Refinement Solveathon. We encourage as many team members as possible to register.An important feature of this workshop is the ability for existing teams with existing solutions to receive live feedback from frontline workers across the United States, from racially, ethnically, experientially, and geographically diverse backgrounds. In breakout rooms, teams will be paired with 1-2 workers who are part of Challenge partner New Profit's XPERT Worker Advisory Board. During this breakout session, you will have the unique opportunity to ask the worker(s) in your group questions about your solution, in order to receive feedback on accessibility, affordability, diversity, impact, and more.
