Wonder what is being constructed on the Clemson Campus these Days!

Well - get out your Sketch Book, put on your walking shoes, and come join AIA Architects and members of the Clemson Architectural Foundation for an Architectural Adventure Day of Sketching and for Clemson Alumni to gather for this joint effort with the Clemson Architectural Foundation.

Saturday, May 4th 2024 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM.

Please join Prof. Lynn Craig, FAIA, RIBA; Sam Herin, AIA CAF President and Prof. Jim Stevens, AIA Architecture Department Head, as we walk to several new buildings and landscapes on the campus.

THIS ARCHITECTURAL ADVENTURE DAY OF SKETCHING…

begins at 9:30 AM where we will meet in the Lee 3 Parking lot and have a short introduction to our campus “walkabout”, at 10:00 AM we head out to the Watts Innovation Center and go to their roof terrace for Birds Eye view of the central campus and the new Cadden Chapel.

At 11:00 AM we pause at the Cooper Reflection Pond on route to the new College of Arts and Humanities Building and the Daniel Hall Expansion. On our return walk to Lee 3 parking lot, we stop by the Cadden Chapel.

From the Lee 3 parking lot, we drive to the Madren Conference Center, Sole On The Green” restaurant “Joes Place” for lunch at 1:00 PM, Dutch treat. After lunch we walk over to the under construction Alumni Center for a viewing.

Returning to Sole On The Green at 2:00 PM for a wrap up social and goodbyes.

Usually we meet once a month to practice on-location drawing in downtown Greenville but in this special location we will be traveling to Clemson University to sketch their beautiful campus. Our events begin with a short lesson followed by sketching on your own at different locations. We end with a throw-down of our drawings to admire each other's work and take a group picture. If Eventbrite shows that all tickets are sold, you are still welcome to join us, we do not limit the event to 25 spots.

Bring: Bring your preferred sketching medium. If you would like to try watercolor, we will have a few palettes on hand. Portable folding stool/chair*.

Provided: Coffee and Donuts

*Please expect some walking and standing at our event. You are welcome to bring a portable folding stool or chair.
