Shabbat Dinner & Workshop: How We Heal from Hate

Living in such divisive times and facing an influx of antisemitism affects each of us deeply. It can change our identities and even embed itself in our very DNA. In fact, we can inherit the effects of trauma from those who came before us. So how do we break the cycle? How do we keep hate, past and present, from hurting our identity and hindering our purpose?

Join the conversation on “How We Heal from Hate” at a Shabbat Dinner and Workshop hosted by Inherit Magazine at Upside Down. We’ll discuss Jewish epigenetics and how to navigate the impact of antisemitism, and we’ll enjoy a Shabbat meal!

Organized by

Upside Down is a coffee, art, and community space owned and operated by Jews for Jesus, designed to serve the community of Westwood Village and UCLA.

Since 2019, the cafe has operated by donation, and most of the events are free to the public. Spaces owned by religious groups are typically either not opened to the public, or not really a space you want to be, and we wanted to change that. We love flipping preconceived ideas on their heads – hence the name. For example, a donation-based coffee shop, or being Jewish and following Jesus. Flipping things can be fun!

Our hope is that each time you walk in from our upside down world, things get put right side up in some way.
