The Green-Wood Historic Fund's mission is to maintain Green-Wood's monuments and buildings of historical, cultural and architectural significance; advance public knowledge and appreciation of this significance; and preserve the natural habitat and parklands of one of New York City's first green spaces.Please note: all ending times listed are approximate, and all tickets are non-refundable unless event is canceled or rescheduled (in which case ticket price minus service fees can be refunded).

The Green-Wood Cemetery

<DIV>A gravestone marks the burial place of the deceased, but what about those who have lain anonymously for a century or more? For many reasons, a final resting place may be unmarked, leaving no physical indication of the burial. That’s why Green-Wood launched the Unmarked Graves Project in 2015. Join Green-Wood’s historian Jeff Richman for this first-ever visit to the recently marked graves of Currier and Ives’s leading artist Fanny Palmer; popular Civil War-era illustrators Edwin Forbes and Thure de Thulstrup; poet James Kirke Paulding, who wrote the popular “Peter Piper” tongue-twister, and more.</DIV>

<DIV><EM><EM>Green-Wood trolley tours are fully accessible and ADA compliant. In order to accommodate a wheelchair or other mobility device on the trolley, advance arrangements must be made. Please call (718) 210-3080, ext. 1. Please note that portions of the tour take place outside the trolley and may require exiting the vehicle on multiple occasions.
