unknowable is an improvisational performance series that can be experienced in-person or virtually. Each performance invites black folks into deepened relationship with themselves.

unknowable is an improvisational performance series existing as a low stakes playground for black folks re/connecting with their bodies.

fat niggas have been having our bodies stolen from us by this anti-black world under the guise of a transaction of love, care and community for quite a long colonized time. billion belly brigade is a time for fat niggas and all niggas to experiment and play with re-confiscating our bodies.

Are you black? yes? then this is for you! this performance may be interesting or enriching to you if... you want to experience a space created for low-stakes play and experimentation at a body level that centers fat black queer and trans disabled niggas

the audience, the ensemble (virtual and in-person), will be invited to move and make sound in their space. with and in their body with the support of prompts (kindling) and invitations offered prior to the performance while the soloist does the same.

this performance is not for turning to your neighbor. though we will have ample time to do so before and after the performance. the soloist will not call-on or draw anyone out of the audience to join them, but encourages all to explore being their own primary dance partner.

a lifelong openness to be transformed in relationship to anti-blackness that tells us that fat, black queer, trans, disabled, neuro-divergent, mad/crazy, poor, dark-skinned, hood folks are unworthy of rest, play, ease, unexceptionalism, love, affection, abundant pleasure and care.
