Even Felix’s high school algebra teacher asked him to sign a copy of the single. Since then, Felix da Housecat has become a fixture of the global scene, finding success in his native Chicago and points well beyond, including London and Ibiza, where this summer he holds down a Monday night residency at the club Lío. A one of a kind personality with a sound that’s evolved across 11 studio albums and a dizzying number of mix albums, singles and edits for artists including Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Pet Shop Boys and Britney Spears, Felix da Housecat’s latest track is the the pummeling peak time heater “Go Hard,” on his own Founders of Filth label. <h3>__________________________________</h3><h3>MARKIE~~~~San Francisco</h3>Wicked Sound system, Wicked Records2 HR SET Markie aka Markie Mark was born and raised in the UK; a bit of a high brow intellectual run amok, abandoning his University education to follow the beat, DJing on the beaches of Brighton and in the squats of London.Markie’s early involvement in the UK underground acid house phenomenon that spread throughout the UK in the late 80’s, began with Whoosh! the notorious outlaw psychedelic parties of East London. Markie, along with mates Jenö, Para, Bones &amp; Ron began this monthly party in an unsuspecting anarchic bookstore off the beaten path.This collective mind, led to Markie’s involvement in the Tonka HiFi Sound System- a band of merry pranksters including Harvey, Choci, Rev, &amp; Thomas, who formed the now legendary Tonka parties that were free and outdoors, anywhere they could get away with setting up a Turbo Sound System. The Tonka free parties were funded by a monthly party at the renowned Zap Club in Brighton, which then would carry onwards at the Brighton beach shores, well after sunrise. These renegade after parties were the precursor to what would become known in the San Francisco Bay Area as the monthly Wicked Full Moon parties.By ’91, the UK rave scene grew in enormity and the government put a strangle hold on clubs, while shutting down these renegade parties. This led Markie along with his mates Garth, Jenö &amp; Thomas to jump on a jet and seek their musical Utopia in the magical lands of San Francisco. This was where the legendary Wicked was born- the four began their musical ministry, teaching to the unenlightened, wherever they could, once a month, under the glow of the Full Moon in a symbiotic collaboration few others have been able to achieve. In no time, this ignited an acid house fueled British invasion stateside, spreading the music in waves across the nation.Markie’s mixing has stood apart, with his talent to transcend beyond the usual sexual barriers of nightclubs, including a residency at the sexually mixed SF Club Townsend’s Carefree Dancing. Renowned for his unique talent of mixing layers of house vocal classics, psychedelic grooves and obscurities, Markie masters an incomparable eclectic groove. His talent to reach the dancefloor beyond the usual limitations led Markie to spin in large festivals like Glastonbury, Burning Man and the ENIT Festival, along with clubs like the legendary Twilo in NYC.In ’92 Markie kicked off his recording career, when an encounter with Psychic TV’s Genesis P Orridge led to a collaboration on Psychic TV’s Kondole Part 3. Markie went on to release tracks on Grayhound, Honchos, Green Gorilla, Third World &amp; Twisted Roots.After 13 glorious years of musical mischief, the renegade DJs of Wicked disbanded, which led Markie to return to his education career and DJ for very selective dates throughout the country. Markie’s DJing talent remains singular and sought after for over 20 years now.<h3>___________________________________</h3><h3>DJ M3~~~~ San Francisco</h3>Green Gorilla Lounge2 HR SETManny staked his everlasting claim in the Bay Area music community in 1990 as a key promoter and DJ, roles for which he took on the abbreviated appellation of M3, short for “Makes Me Move”. Begun as a fluid, down-tempo approach, M3 eventually evolved his sound to the expression of house and techno bangers he is known for today. Manny quickly developed his own legendary party brand Green Gorilla Lounge and progressed to sharing the decks with industry icons with bookings across the globe. This further developed Manny’s acumen for rhythm and cultural finesse, priming him for several collaborations with Phil ‘Rene’ Collis of Bachelor’s of Science and setting the stage for their alliance as the stealthy duo Sleight of Hands. Having seen releases through his own label Green Gorilla Lounge, as well as Smoke ’N’ Mirrors, Om, Sirenum, and Chillin’ Records. M3 has notably performed at the San Francisco Treasure Island Music Festival 2014, Outsidelands 2013, and Coachella 2013 as Sleight of Hands. With past projects including the Tweakin’/ Black Pancake record shop and Triple Crown Nightclub under his belt, Manny has moved forward embodying his passion for music as of the Father of record label Green Gorilla Lounge and co-owner of SF nightlife staple Monarch nightclub along with Chris Smith of Om Records.When not in the studio, M3 can be found tearing it up pushing his signature sound DJing in clubs, bars, and undergrounds all over the city. Presenting with Green Gorilla, Manny also co-hosts the annual “Fully Loaded” in collusion with the infamous Sunset Crew. Suffice it to say, there is no doubt M3 is thoroughly invested in his lifelong relationship with the 1s and 2s. His creation and shared evolution of Sunset Sound System has quite literally catapulted a localized scene into the global sphere. Which has since magnetically attracted the world’s top DJs &amp; producers to the west, playing for the Sunset annuals, boat parties, &amp; Campout Festival. These events are notorious for truly establishing and holding the gold standard in sound and production, fixing a rooted and veritable pride that is immediately palpable. As a preeminent organizer, GALEN is the force that brings the experience into crystallized perfection. And within this historic landscape, his dedication to the craft of djing has not wavered.
