United Way Day of Action: Born Learning Trail
Date and time
Location
Greenwood Park
1306 Cornell Avenue Ruston, LA 71270Description
United Way of Northeast Louisiana Day of Action is an opportunity for volunteer employee teams to come together to change lives and strengthen our community.
Using feedback collected during our 2017 Listening Tour, we learned that the community aspires for a healthier, safer community. To help meet this aspiration, the United Way Volunteer Strategic Planning Committee established a goal to create safe, healthy environments for families, including enhancing and increasing safe places to play and exercise.
With these goals in mind, United Way of Northeast Louisiana is excited to announce the 2018 Day of Action which will unite volunteers to construct Born Learning Trails to enhance our community parks.
The United Way Born Learning Trail at Greenwood Park is being made possible by The City of Ruston, Hunt Forest Products, and Lincoln Parish ACHIEVE. It will be a series of 10 interactive signs and sidewalk stencils that offer fun and active learning activities for young children and their families. These activities help young children boost language, reading, problem solving, and critical thinking skills and inspire parents and caregivers to create quality engagement opportunities with their children, while promiting increased physical activity in a fun, interactive way.
This one-afternoon volunteer opportunity is a great way to join together to elevate awareness of early childhood education and an opportunity to share our commitment to bettering our community.
Register here and bring a completed copy of this liability waiver with you to the event.
