About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join the Somerville Pedestrian & Transit Advisory Committee (PTAC) and fellow community members for a walk audit of Union Square. A walk audit is a community assessment of how safe, accessible, comfortable, and inviting it is to walk in a defined area. Since Union Square is one of the busiest pedestrian areas citywide and home to several high-crash roads, we want to identify opportunities to make this beloved square safer for people walking in the near-term.

We will have several groups leaving from the same location at slightly staggered times, so don’t worry if you can’t arrive right at 6 p.m.

This event is hosted by the Somerville Pedestrian & Transit Advisory Committee (PTAC) in collaboration with the Somerville Alliance for Safe Streets (SASS), Groundwork Somerville, and the Somerville Commission for Persons with Disabilities (SCPD).

Organized by

The Somerville Pedestrian & Transit Advisory Committee (PTAC) is a Mayor-appointed body that works alongside City staff to improve conditions for pedestrian and transit riders in Somerville, promote walking and taking transit as means of transportation, and guide city plans and policies to create a safer and more equitable built environment for walking and taking transit.
