Union City Boulevard Bike Lanes Project

The long-awaited Union City Boulevard (UCB) Bike Lanes Project is scheduled to begin construction this summer! The project will reconstruct the existing median area to accommodate new buffered Class II bike lanes on UCB from Smith Street to the southern City limits at the Alameda County Flood Control Channel Bridge.

The UCB Bike Lanes Project will:

  • Complete Bay Trail gap
  • Improve bicycle and pedestrian access to parks and trails
  • Improve public safety through signalized intersections and enhanced corridor lighting
  • Upgrade roadway pavement
  • Provide enhanced landscaped areas
  • Improve storm drainage system

Residents are invited to learn more about the project, including construction timeline and potential impacts.
