About this event

UNICEF Innovation will be hosting a 90-minute session which will include an interactive activity. Participants will be tasked with solving a challenge, while being constrained by certain factors.

Following this, a conversation will be hosted by UNICEF Innovation on efforts underway to map schools around the world and their internet connectivity. Additionally, a prototype demonstrating where blockchain can help increase the transparency of internet procurement and the monitoring of services being delivered will be shared by the UNICEF team.

Please note that this event is only open to Devcon 5 participants. Space is limited; please RSVP to register.

There are more than 300 million young people between the ages of 15 and 24 across the globe that are not connected to the internet at school. These children are being left behind, while their peers from wealthier and more connected regions are getting better education, access to health information, and higher financial inclusion.

UNICEF has embarked on a journey to map all schools (& their connectivity) and are exploring where blockchain can connect children in a fair and transparent manner around the globe.
