Come and learn about the Five Elements in Chinese Medicine!

The Five Elements (Water, Wood, Earth, Fire and Metal) in Chinese Medicine give us a beautiful framework to apply to understanding life and being in better balance. As an acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner, I love to use these in trying to help patients and students understand their own environment more, and we can also use this in herbalism. We will talk about each element and its defining characteristics (which season it relates to, which organs, colors, sounds and more), how the elements work together and control each other, archetypes or constitutions for each and how to balance an element when it becomes out of balance. Some questions that might be answered after taking this class: How can we live better with each season? Is there a constitutional element that feels the most relatable to me, and what steps can I take to be in better balance? If I see an imbalance in an element and want to use particular herbs to balance it, what herbs would I use (or how could I intuitively understand which herbs I already know would work?). Whatever herbal medicine approach you are interested in (or if you just want a deeper understanding of Chinese medicine), this can be helpful in greater understanding of the complex system that the elements approach. This class may also be useful to other practitioners such as massage therapists that are curious about meridian theory, yoga teachers who are interested in yin yoga and more! This class will be virtual via Zoom. You will receive a link and instructions before the class begins on how to join (it's a quick download). I will also send you a handout which you can print or you can just listen and take notes!
There are no refunds for these classes as they take a lot of time to prepare! If an emergency comes up, please let me know, but I usually can send you a recording. If you are unable to come due to finances, please contact me.
