Is there a book that goes with this?

Yes! Dr. Cathey strongly recommends you use the book "Israel/Palestine" by Alan Dowty. You can contact Jennifer at jennifer@centralpreschurch.org to request one through the church or order online. Dr. Cathey will provide suggested reading prior to each session.

Can I join by zoom?

Sorry, no. We are asking all participants to attend the sessions at Central Presbyterian Church in Lafayette. This will help us keep to the teaching agenda and prioritize guided conversations.

Is this a pro-Israel or pro-Hamas class?

Central Presbyterian and Dr. Cathey have created a neutral environment for learning. We are not adding any layers of politics but simply trying to understand the people who are caught up in this conflict and what we may be able to do to help them.

Is this a one time class?

No, this is a six-week series of sessions. Attendees are encouraged to attend all the sessions to get a complete understanding of the topics.

Where do I park for these sessions?

Central is located at 31 North 7th Street in downtown Lafayette. There will be street parking on 7th as well as a free church lot at the corner of 7th and Columbia.

What doors do I use to get to the room?

The sessions will occur in the Large Fellowship Hall which is located in the red brick Education Building (on the corner of 7th and South Streets. The entrance is at the top of stairs/ramp. Someone will be there to greet you.
