How to use open source tools to understand what is happening
in our local communities

Join us on Sunday, September 27 for an interactive coding workshop with the Emergent Works and Julia Kiserman! In this course, we will review how to use javascript to retrieve open-source data and load it into a graphic library for visualization. Using tools available to us online, we can start answering the questions we care about in our communities. Skills we will cover:<ul><li>Loading data into Javascript </li><li>Using javascript to transform data into visualization</li><li>Using open-source data visualization libraries and much more! </li></ul>*No prior knowledge required This workshop will be happening on Sunday, September 27, from 2 pm - 4 pm(EST)Click <a href="http://bit.ly/codecoopzoom" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">HERE</a> to join via zoom on Sunday! You will need a laptop/computer and reliable Wi-fi to participate.

Bio:Julia is a software engineer passionate about data literacy and transparency. She has spent the last four years working for a big data company learning how to wrangle data into formats that make it easy to digest and understand.
