A discussion about human trafficking prevention

NCBW-RMAC will host “Understanding Human Trafficking” on February 15, 2023 at 6:30p.m., Safe Harbor’s Alexandria Wall, Director of Human Trafficking Services will discuss trafficker tactics and how to work with victims. Due to the mature theme of this workshop, it is advisable that only adults register for this workshop.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Alexandria “Ali” Wall 
Ali Wall, Licensed Professional Counselor, joined Safe Harbor in February of 2022 as the Human Trafficking Program Manager and was promoted within six months to Director of Human Trafficking Services. In this role she manages the overall operations of the Human Trafficking Programs, which includes the Emergency and Transitional Human Trafficking Shelters as well as the human trafficking community case management and hotline services. Ali supervises the team of case managers and client services advocates and ensures the delivery of client-centered crisis intervention, safety planning, supportive counseling, and case management. Before her employment at Safe Harbor, Ali was employed at the Office of Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring (OAG) as the Human Trafficking Case Manager for minor victims. In this role she provided intensive case management services to minor victims of sex and labor trafficking in the five localities represented in the Richmond Regional Human Trafficking Collaborative (Richmond, Chesterfield, Goochland, Henrico and Hanover). In both roles Ali conducts assessments with potential victims, identifies immediate needs and treatment options including long and short term placements, and creates individualized treatment plans for each client. She assists victims as they navigate the criminal justice system process, provides family education, and assists with reunification as appropriate. In addition, Ali provides training to a variety of stakeholder groups and allied professionals.

Ali has Bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Sociology from George Mason University and a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Ali also worked as the Treatment for Exploited Children Program Coordinator and Lead Therapist at a residential facility for youth where she created a clinical program tract for minor victims. She is proficient in working with underserved populations and has extensive knowledge of victim-centered trauma approaches.
