This virtual training is proudly hosted by the Youth and Community Action Team (YCAT) in Virginia Beach, a local coalition dedicated since 2008 to using evidence-based strategies to promote a safe, healthy, and drug-free lifestyle in our community.
This 1-hour training is designed to empower parents, caregivers, and community members by giving you the knowledge and tools needed to safeguard your home and open critical conversations with youth.
What You Will Learn:
- The Specific Dangers: Learn the dangers of both prescription drug misuse and OTC cough medicine abuse, and understand the harm these substances can cause to teens.
- Knowledge is Power: Gain the confidence and specific knowledge you need to talk to your teen about the risks, addressing the why behind prevention.
- Security Starts at Home: Practical, immediate steps you can take to secure, inventory, and safely dispose of all unused or expired medications in your home.
