The Chattery cultivates and fosters a community of learners and teachers through fun, affordable and accessible learning experiences throughout Chattanooga.As a nonprofit, The Chattery brings an unlimited variety of classes to our community ranging from the arts to financial planning.  We not only serve as ambassadors who bring awesome classes and workshops to Chattanooga but we’re also helping cultivate and encourage your passions.In other words, our classes are dreamt up and taught by you, a member of our community.All classes are for adults aged 18 and up unless otherwise noted.

Have you ever found yourself wondering, why does my dog:

<LI>shake off when he’s not wet and yawn when he’s not tired?</LI>

Are dogs more like their wolf ancestors or us humans? Dog behavior can be funny, puzzling, and even gross at times. If you’ve ever found yourself wondering what your dog is thinking, then this class is for you. The format is intended to be educational, yet fun. We will address broader concepts of modern dog behavior and answer your individual questions. The insights from this class can also be used to help inform the training you do with your dog. While dogs are not permitted in the class, we encourage you to come with a brief description of your dog and his/her traits that you find the most bewildering.
About the teacher:
Nicole Kazmierzak is a dog trainer and behavior specialist. She received her education and certification from the Misha May Foundation, located in Lakewood, Colorado and completed the requirements for K9 First-Aid and CPR through Colorado CPR &amp; AED. Nicole focuses on force-free training methods and specializes in working with dogs in need of rehabilitation and behavior modification; the most prevalent being fear and anxiety. Nicole has volunteered with several rescue organizations along the front range in Colorado, and served on the board of directors for Do Over Dogs, a rescue in Broomfield, Colorado. Additionally, Nicole has fostered and adopted herself when space at home has allowed. She started her dog training and adventure company, Recess, in Chattanooga, TN in 2016. She and her husband, Travis, live in Chattanooga with their three canine kids.
