Program Content
This training will discuss the common trauma symptom of dissociation. We will discuss how to notice dissociation in ourselves and others and work to understand the function of this symptom. We will discuss how to partner with clients to assess and explore dissociation.
Course Objectives
- Gain a basic understanding of trauma symptom of dissociation
- Understand how to notice dissociation in a therapy session and assess client’s level of dissociation
- Understand internal function of dissociation as a trauma response
Presenters
Angela Langenfeld is a Licensed Professional Counselor through the state of Wisconsin with a Specialty to Treat Substance Use Disorders. Angela completed her Master of Science in Community Counseling at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Angela is an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Informed therapist who has also trained in the Comprehensive Resource Model of treatment. Angela currently provides trauma responsive clinical supervision and therapy through Professional Services Group. Angela strives to cultivate and inspire a strengths based, trauma informed, and culturally responsive lens to case conceptualization.
