For Whom?

Babes who struggle (whether sometimes or often) with staying regulated in relationships, especially around communication and conflict resolution, who are looking for a container that combines psychoeducation, emotional processing, skill-building, and community to work toward making real change.

This group is for you if: you easily go into fight, flight, freeze, or fawn; feel too activated (hypo or hyper) to engage in conflict safely; have trouble managing your reactions; lean into anxious, avoidant, or disorganized protest behaviors; ghost, people please, or struggle to maintain your boundaries; and/or tend to regret how you react in relationships.

This group might not be appropriate for you if you are in active crisis or early in your trauma-healing journey.

When + Where?

This group will run on Sundays, 10am-12n PT (1-3pm ET), for six consecutive weeks (with a break for Memorial Day Weekend [US]).

The dates for this group are April 27th, May 4th, 11th, 18th, June 6th and 8th.

You do not have to be available for every session to join the group!

These are virtual sessions on Zoom.

What About?

Each session will focus on an overarching idea to lead us through considering our pasts, presents, and futures.

Some of what we'll discuss includes:

grounding and centering ourselves in and out of conflict
committing ourselves to who we want to be in the world
connecting to our emotional and somatic awareness
recognizing and leaning on our support systems
understanding non-violent communication
the theory of dialectics and applying radical acceptance
recognizing and regulating our insecure attachment
practicing direct communication around desires and boundaries
and more!

What Format?

Each session will last 90-120 minutes and roughly follow the same format.

This will generally look like:

emotional check-in and somatic grounding
open floor to share reflections
brief educational presentation
paired or small-group processing
large group discussion
wrap-up and check-out

Each week, reflection questions and resources for learning (articles, zines, podcasts, etc.) will be sent out by email. These are not homework assignments; they're not mandatory. But they can be helpful guidance for preparing for the next session and deepening your learning!

What Is + Isn't This?

It is important for me to name that this group is not therapy and that I am not a mental health professional. This group is being guided by the following principles and facilitator skill sets: sex and relationship education, holistic life coaching, and peer support.

The goal of this group is not to heal relational trauma. Rather, the goal is to better understand ourselves, learn new skills to move through relationships, and connect with folks with shared experience.

Who Is Our Facilitator?

Melissa A. Fabello, PhD is a sex and relationships educator who believes in the transformative power of self-work and relational skill-building. She has over 15 years of experience as an educator and brings to her programming a validating, passionate, and humorous approach. She is a formally trained and nationally certified life coach, and she holds a PhD in Human Sexuality Studies.

How Much?

The base cost is $299 (USD).

There is an option to pay the base cost, plus donate to the scholarship fund, at a cost of $349 (USD).

There is also an option to pay half now ($149.50 USD) and half later. The second payment will be due by April 25th and will be paid through Venmo or PayPal.

There are two pay-what-you-can slots available for BIPOC only.
